![]() ![]() The restaurant on its own as an attraction and an amusement ride will bring me back to Flag. Tinderbox is my new favorite by far over what are the 2 pricey stand-bys in the town. I just hope that Flag and keep this place going. A tasting that ended up being about 9 delicious items for $50 is an amazing value in my opinion. Thank you! This place would kick butt in a large city. We haven't walked away from a restaurant with grins like that in a long time. It was tasty but didn't match the plate or the rest of the tasting. Be sure to visit the restaurants cocktail lounge, Annex, next door for a pre or. The only odd item was a chorizo & pea side with the 3rd course. Located in the historic Southside district, Tinderbox Kitchen serves up. We ended up maxing out at dessert eating only half of each of the 3-options. Dessert was 3 separate creations that were amazing. Third was a deer vineson steak with mind-blowing stuffing that was touched with duck fat. The second was a seafood dish that had smoked mussels (I think smoked) that blew me away. Our name is derived from the initials our first three concepts: Tourist Home. The first course was 3 separate mini-tastings that were simple but very tasty and unique combinations I've never had before. We were the first to invest in the Southside of Downtown Flagstaff, beginning in 2009 with the Tinderbox Kitchen. We got the impression that the chef was creating on the fly. ![]() Plus, I believe a tasting at Tinderbox will change every time. I'm not going to brag and likely bore you with the details because I don't want to waste your or my time. It's been a long time since food has wowed us. The two of us did the chef's tasting for dinner ($50/person). To end on a bright note, I love this spot and you will too! Everything else we've ever ordered from here was amazing, FYI. Served with home made fries, this is the best burger I've ever had and I like burgers :) Pretty sure the Chef/owner has seen my husband and I in there seemingly hundreds of times and he has yet to come say hello to us, which I wish didn't bother me but the super friendly manager makes up for enough for us to continue patronizing this fantastic locals spot, regardless of the Chefs lack of professionalism and interesting social skills :) PS: Wish they played better music as they seem to allow the bartenders to choose and it's always indi/alternative/depressing boy break-up music.my only other complaint. Everything is home made, from the bun, pickles and ketchup to the freshly ground meat and their becoming famous "bacon jam" to top it off. But, incase you haven't tried the Annex (right next door to the Tinderbox) yet, your missing out and especially during summer. The Tinderbox is amazing, we all know that. With painstakingly honed entrees, over 100 wine options, and an expert staff to make sure you pair them right, Tinderbox is an experience you wont find anywhere else.
